Over the years Roy and I have found that Mt Margaret makes a good conditioning area for getting into 'ski shape'. We often rode our snowmobiles up the old, snow-covered logging roads to near their end and then donned our skis. You put on the skins to ascend and remove them for the downhill. We have run into all types of snow conditions from powder to soft, 'Cascade Concrete'. One time it was so wet and cold we decided to start a fire. Despite our best efforts for about an hour we simply could not get any of the wet stuff to burn. One of the very few times we ever got 'skunked' trying to start a fire.
