I took a few extra minutes to walk out to the summit of White Mountain on the first day of my hike from Glacier Peak to Snoqualmie Pass along the PCT. This was June 1991, back in the days when one could drive to the trailhead at the end of the White Chuck River Road. As I sat on the crest of White Mountain a north wind was blowing and as the air was pushed up over the ridge it formed a dense, white mist that wrapped down the lee side quite a distance before it dissipated. I was enthralled and wished that I had a time lapse camera to capture the action. Of course if I had a time lapse camera I would also have a tripod, a remote lens release, and lots of film. And no way was I going to pack all that extra weight on my upcoming two-week jaunt.
A few pictures to come
