I get to the top of Cloucomb's summit ridge, above a blue sling, but I can see that about 100 feet to the east along a terribly jagged ridge is a slightly higher pinnacle. Sigh.... Too late to go for that one or I'll be downclimbing a steep and sometimes treacherous route in the dark.
No way I can get back to the horsecamp below Pyramid Mountain where I have my tent. So I luckily find a huge decomposed log for a mattress and break out my space blanket for a not too uncomfortable bivy. Main problem is that my feet keep getting uncovered and the chill wakes me up.
